The documentary STRAWS
Wednesday Nov 8, 2017, 7:00 PM
Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History
165 Forest Ave, Pacific Grove

Sustainable Pacific Grove invites you to a free showing of the recently released documentary “Straws”, Wednesday, November 8th, 7 pm, at the PG Museum of Natural History.

Documentary filmmaker, Linda Booker, gives us a powerful examination of man’s obsession with plastic straws and the consequences of this and other forms of plastic pollution that inundate our waterways and oceans.  Every day in the USA, half a billion non-recyclable plastic straws are used once and tossed, ending up in landfills, littering streets and reaching our beaches.

Narrated by actor and director Tim Robbins, who interviews marine researchers, citizen activists and business owners who discuss how they’re making a sea of change…one plastic straw at a time.

Feature Speakers:  Jacki Nunez, Founder The Last Plastic StrawShelby O’Neil, Founder Jr Ocean Guardians, and Kera Abraham Panni, Monterey Bay Aquarium.  Our speakers will update us on the current campaign to ban plastic straws in restaurants and the No Straw November efforts.
