Sustainable Marina

Citizens fC4SM Logoor Sustainable Marina (C4SM)  have been an active group since 2008.

They coordinate an Earth Day event that takes place every April and provides hundreds of volunteer hours to the City of Marina restoring Locke Paddon Park and Lake area, repainting, planting, and clearing non-native plants with a day of well organized family-friendly fun, food and music.

They regularly organize the community to clean up neighborhoods and the Marina beach, pushed through city legislation allowing backyard chickens, have a City Food Forest program, and engage the local school children in sustainable activities, and much more. Read more and contact them through their own engaging website: Citizens for Sustainable Marina.

Locke Paddon Park is the spot for their annual Marina Earth Day event and work party.

Hundreds of participants came out to work on park beautification, and to visit over 20 booths to learn about organizations and environmental issues, hear live music and enjoy a free lunch for those registering for any one of the numerous service projects. Bag O’Tricks  entertained us with their great music, Friends of the Marina Library had a story reading time, and prizes were won through a passport program.
