Unique Characteristics/Focus

Unique Characteristics

B-SAGE is located and rooted in Big Sur, California. Highway 1 meanders between the Santa Lucia Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. These majestic views provide scenic inlays of watersheds and fantastic solitude that attracts tourists from all over the world. Due to the influx of tourists, the coast needs constant care. Trash and pollution have become pressing issues. We seek to maintain, support and prolong the naturalness of the land and the environment of Big Sur.

Local Focus

Big Sur is vulnerable to frequent climate-change related natural disasters, with the most threatening being wildfires, floods that follow and droughts.  There is almost a disaster risk for every season.  Our focus for Big Sur Community and environment continues to be:

Waste Reduction

Ocean Pollution

Highway 1-Litter Getter Program. We offer free litter grabbers to locals to do trash pick-up
